Trimal requires iOS 26 or later. In Time, use the menu to add cities, then tap a city to adjust its timeline. Trip & Contact Hours sets your home city, destination and preferred calling hours. In Currency, enter an amount in any row to update the others. In Spending, tap + to record an expense; no account or trip setup is needed.
Camera and Photos require iOS 27, a device that supports Apple Intelligence, Apple Intelligence enabled, and at least one available image model. If these requirements are not met, + opens manual entry directly. Check Apple Intelligence settings and allow any required model download to finish.
Recognition first tries Apple Private Cloud Compute (PCC), which needs a connection and available service quota. It can fall back to the on-device model when available. Each model has its own 33-second time limit, so a fallback can take longer than 33 seconds in total. A temporary rate limit or exhausted quota can prevent recognition even when the buttons are available. Follow the displayed message, try later or enter the details manually.
Use a clear photo of the full receipt. Before saving, check the amount, currency, category, date, time, city and note. AI suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. The selected image is temporary and is not attached to the entry; Trimal does not change the original in Photos.
Search for a city or choose a recently used city in Spending. New city searches need a connection. Use Current Location is optional; after you grant permission, later new entries can fill in your current city. Existing entries and manual place choices are preserved. You can change permission in iOS Settings.
Exchange rates are reference estimates, not bank or card quotes. Currency shows the dates of its reference rates. An expense entry can use a quote from a different date than the expense, and later display conversions may use other available rates. Spending’s Currency setting changes its display currency independently of the Currency tab and trip settings.
Saved-city time calculations, manual expense entry and cached rates work offline. New city searches, weather, rate updates, uncached place photos and PCC need a connection. A missing rate does not prevent saving an original amount; incomplete spending totals remain marked as pending. Pull down in Currency or Spending to refresh rates when online.
Entries and settings are stored on your device, without app-managed expense sync. Edit or delete entries in Spending. Deleting the app removes its local data; device backups are managed separately in iOS Settings. We do not hold a server copy that we can restore.
